Yoga Master Szabolcs Atzel-Bethlen or Saby –as he is affectionately called by many of his students — is a native of Hungary, emigrated to the United States in 1977.
Prior to leaving his country, he earned a Master’s Degree in clinical psychology at Lawrence Eotvos University of Science in Budapest. He practiced martial arts before teaching yoga and he is a member of the prestigious Kodokan Judo Institute of Tokyo. Before establishing his Yoga College of Beverly Hills in 1982, he continued his studies in India and Japan, and traveled extensively in Asia, including Nepal, Burma and Thailand.
His basic Hatha Yoga routine promotes health, through the principles of harmony and balance, the balance between body and mind, the balance between strength and flexibility. He gives absolute priority to the science of breathing . . . Pranayama.
Baron Szabolcs Atzel-Bethlen is a member of one of Hungary’s most distinguished families. His ancestors included Gabriel Bethlen Prince of Transylvania, Prince of the Holy Roman Empire and elected King of Hungary in the middle ages as well as Count Stephen Bethlen, Prime Minister of Hungary in modern times.

He has created a fitness program which he calls the, Cosmic Fountain of Youth or Aerobic Yoga. It was released on video and book form, starring actress Yvette Mimieux. The program combines the two great elements from the cultures of India and China, the static Hatha Yoga and the dynamic Tai-Chi resulting in Meditation in Motion.
